I'VE SEEN THE EFFECTS

When people start talking of legalizing drugs, I get a sinking feeling. We
have one legal drug (alcohol) that causes many problems -- drunken driving,
liver disease, domestic problems and murder, to name a few. If you legalize
pot or any street drug, you make it socially acceptable.

That increases the number of people using the drug.

Don't try to convince me that pot is harmless. It interferes with
concentration. Just think of how many things you need concentration for.

People who are up in their rooms smoking pot sure aren't going to
concentrate on their studies! They aren't called pot heads for nothing.

I have been a nurse for 33 years. Ten of those were spent working in a psych
unit, and I have seen what drug abuse can do.
