CONVICTIONS IN COCAINE TRIAL
MIAMI, Dec. 5 (UPI) - Six men have been convicted of conspiracy to smuggle
drugs and money laundering in Miami federal court.
The jury in the two-month trial deliberated for three days before coming up
with the verdicts for conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to
distribute and conspiracy to launder money.
Prosecutors say the ring operated through Haiti for a decade and was
operated by former Haiti police chief Joseph Michael Francois.
He won a fight against extradition last year and is living in Honduras.
