GANG DRUG ROLE BRINGS 24 YEARS

A Gangster Disciple leader was sentenced Monday to 24 years and 7 months in
prison by U.S. District Judge George Marovich for his role in the street
gang's multimillion-dollar drug conspiracy.

Roland Tetteh, 19, was the first to be sentenced of five gang leaders who
were convicted in August in the fourth major trial stemming from a mammoth
investigation of the Gangster Disciples.

Assistant U.S. Atty. Jonathan King said that during the trial, prosecutors
played a tape-recording of a gang meeting in which Tetteh exhorted juveniles
to carry guns at drug spots.

Tetteh ran a drug territory for the gang on the South Side, King said.
