DRUG MONEY BEING SPENT INEFFECTIVELY
THE DEALERS of slow death are at work again and Mr Moore is once again
promoting the controlled taking of drugs by the unfortunate and the unhappy
rather than putting up workable funding proposals to help people regain
control of their lives.
Why is it that "drug-law reform" groups and its advocates regularly put up
proposals to encourage drug taking under the banner of "harm minimisation",
but rarely float a concrete proposal to fund facilities that might allow
addicts to get a life?
As the ACT Government ministers sat and listened to Mr Moore's proposal for
a "safe heroin injecting room", I hope that they asked him and the
proposal's other supporters why it is that they have little or no apparent
interest in helping or funding help for those whose minds, emotions and will
are under the control of heroin.
I would be interested to hear his explanation of why he is not advocating
treatment facilities run by competent people (ie, not a government agency)
with a good track record in helping addicts.
