YELTSIN INSTRUCTS GOVT TO SET UP DRUG CONTROL FUND.

MOSCOW, December 29 (Itar-Tass) - President Boris Yeltsin instructed the
government on Tuesday to complete setting up "a federal extra-budgetary
illegal drug-trafficking fund", says a report by the presidential press
service, received by Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

The president also gave orders that the government should take additional
drastic measures in this sphere: "draw up and submit proposals to the
Russian Federal Assembly (Eds: Russian parliament) on amendments and
addenda to legislation regulating struggle against drug spreading, to
conclude international treaties on extradition of people committing drug
crimes, and to work out a programme of measures to prevent drug addiction
among minors and young people".
