MARIJUANA IS COLORADO'S FOURTH-LARGEST CASH CROP?

Law officers are skeptical about a recent report that marijuana is
Colorado's fourth-largest cash crop. The National Organization for the
Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) uses rough estimates of the street value
of pot to reach its conclusion. But the Colorado State Patrol says there is
no real way of knowing how much illegal weed is grown in the state.

Officials say all 92-thousand plants found in 1997 were eradicated. The DEA
says putting marijuana on the same page as corn, hay and other crops is
misleading, and called the MORML report a look at the lighter side of the
marijuana trade.
