ACCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES

RE: COP raid on kiddie party.

There were obviously some mistakes made by the Abbotsford, B.C. police
department but once again we find parents in our society not willing to
accept the consequences of their actions. This will no doubt be a shining
example for these children to follow. I guess it doesn't matter if I bring
drugs and weapons into a house where children live. If anything bad
happens, it won't be my fault. How dare the police try to enforce the laws
of the land? We sometimes wonder how kids today can commit horrible crimes
and not seem to care. Maybe some of these attitudes were learned at home.
As a parent, I feel for the children involved and, yes, the police should
explain themselves to the children as requested by one of the responsible
fathers but these parents should explain to the children why the police
would even be interested in entering this home. Confess to your children
that you made a mistake by being involved in illegal drugs and maybe
something good may come from this experience. Maybe your children will
learn to be responsible citizens unlike yourselves.

Chris Upsdell

(Interesting point, but let's not forget the police were observing the
house and could see a kids party was in progress.)
