LADYSMITH GETS $10,000 FOR METH PREVENTION
Ladysmith's war on meth received a welcome boost last month with the
Town receiving $10,000 from the Union of B.C. Municipalities to set
up a a crystal meth prevention strategy.
The province-wide program is meant to raise awareness of the
dangerous street drug and to respond to local concerns through
education and community involvement.
Ladysmith has struck a task force led by councillor Scott Bastian and
local drug and alcohol counsellor Kim Chadwick to decide how to
implement a community response to the threat of crystal meth.
The group met for the first time in June and more meetings are
planned for the fall.
