NALTREXONE EXPERIMENT
A TWO-year clinical trial of the controversial heroin replacement drug
Naltrexone is to go ahead at Brisbane's Greenslopes private hospital.
Queensland Health saId yesterday 150 methadone patients would take
part in the study, one of four Naltrexone trials being undertaken in
Australia.
In the Brisbane trial, 50 patients will undergo the controversial
rapid opiate detoxification.
A sedated opiate detox method will also be trialed.
