WOMAN FACES PRISON FOR USING DOG'S DRUGS

A North Carolina woman faces up to four years in prison for pretending
her dog was sick so she could use her pet's painkiller for herself.

Molly Lackey Murrow, 30, of Winston-Salem, pleaded guilty Friday to
falsely obtaining the drug Torbutrol, a prescription painkiller
provided to her Chihuahua-terrier mixed-breed dog.

Authorities believe Murrow duped veterinarians in several counties
into prescribing pain medicine for her dog after she became addicted
to migraine headache medication.

Murrow used seven alliases for herself and even gave aliases for her
dog, according to search warrants.

Murrow admitted having made 180 visits to veterinarians since November
1997, illegally obtaining seven dog-size doses of the pain medicine.
