JURY CONVICTS MAN IN FEDERAL DRUG CASE
A Key West man was convicted on federal drug charges late Wednesday, in a
case stemming from Operation Conch Supply.
Alberto Blasco was found guilty by a federal jury of conspiracy to
distribute cocaine.
His cousin, David Blasco, and co-defendants Chris Monticello, former Key
West Police Officer Frank Monticello, Michael Martinez and Andy Hetu all
pleaded guilty in the case earlier this week. Frank Monticello pleaded
guilty to money-laundering charges, while the others were charged with
distributing drugs.
The FBI tapped cellular and home telephones to acquire evidence in the case,
which traced cocaine dealing from the Keys. The men were arrested last
summer.
Sentencing for the men who pleaded guilty is set for April 20. They each
face from 10 years to life in prison.
