AUTHORITIES NAB 302 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA

MONTELLO, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities found nearly 303 pounds of marijuana
behind a garage in the village of Neshkoro, what is being called the
largest drug seizure in Marquette County history.

A pound of the marijuana would go for $1,500 on the street, authorities said.

The seizure comes after months of investigation, authorities announced last
week. The Drug Enforcement Agency had information that a drug dealer was
transporting drugs into the county for safekeeping, said Joe Konrath, a
sheriff' s detective.

Based on citizen tips, authorities eventually went to the garage and found
about 302.9 pounds of marijuana in a small storage trailer.

" This case is an example of sophisticated, large quantity drug
distribution operation, " Konrath said. .

Arrest warrants have been issued in the case, authorities said.
