NORWOOD-ASPHODEL FIRE CHIEF RESIGNS
Norwood-Asphodel Township is looking for a new fire
chief.
The Township's former fire chief, Paul Bitten, resigned last
Thursday.
His resignation comes after his June 21 arrest following a police raid
at his Helen Street home. During the raid, police allegedly found a
small amount of marijuana and cocaine, valued at $100, along with two
marijuana grow rooms in the house, although no plants were present.
Police says a number of shotguns shells stored improperly were also
discovered.
In the interim, Deputy Chief Ken Wilford will serve as acting fire
chief until a permanent replacement is named.
