MARIJUANA DESTROYED
Masaka - The Anti-Narcotic squad in Masaka led by Yona Kafurukye last week
destroyed two acres of marijuana in Bulawula village in Kalungu county,
Masaka.
Kafurukye said the squad with a team of detectives accompanied by the LCI
boss destroyed 400 plants of marijuana and arrested three suspects. They
were remanded after appearing before the district magistrate.
They are: Mrs. Ssebunya, Mrs. Ntege and Ndugwa. Kafurukye said marijuana
consumption in Masaka is rampant and is a source of crime.
"In many areas it has become a cash crop," he said. He appealed to local
leaders to report marijuana suppliers in their areas.
