COCAINE SMUGGLER CONVICTED
MIAMI, - A federal court jury has convicted Jorge
Alberto Diaz of Miami of smuggling more than a ton of cocaine worth
$170 million into the country.
Diaz is the man who was arrested more than a year ago as the result of
a courageous Customs agent who straddled two speeding boats, one of
them abandoned and crammed with cocaine. The other boat contained Diaz.
Two weeks later, President Clinton publicly praised Goulet's bravery
during a visit to Miami.
