CHIEF WARY OF ANTI-DRUG PROGRAM
Police Chief David Boothby wants more time to evaluate the DARE
anti-drug education program before putting it in Toronto schools.
"I'm not here to say it's a good program or it's not a good program,"
Boothby told members of the police services board last week.
The police chief acknowledged the program has been criticized in the
United States, and also said, with 900 Toronto schools, the program
would require about 125 officers.
