POLICE SEIZE HEROIN VALUED AT $600,000
Texarkana, Ark., police made one arrest and seized 3 pounds of black
tar heroin during a traffic stop Wednesday.
"We don't see a lot of heroin here. This is a very big bust," said
Sgt. Doug Avery, police spokesman.
The estimated street value of the heroin is $600,000, Avery
said.
"This is the largest seizure of black tar heroin in this area, ever,"
he said.
The suspect, whose name was not released, cooperated with police and
the Bi-State Task Force in conjunction with the FBI.
The suspect was stopped about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the 6-mile
marker on Interstate 30, Avery said.
The suspect was en route to Chicago, Ill., with the drugs. He gave
police information that led to arrests in the Chicago area, Avery said.
