NFL PLAYER INDICTED IN DRUG OPERATION

MIAMI, Feb. 8 (UPI) - A member of the National Football League's Atlanta
Falcons was indicted Monday on charges of money laundering as part of an
alleged drug trafficking and money laundering operation.

Federal prosecutors say Tony Martin was involved in a scheme along with
Rickey Brownlee in which Martin allegedly leased luxury automobiles, paying
for them with drug money from Brownlee's narcotics operation.

Martin, who played in the Super Bowl last week for the Falcons, was also
charged in another money laundering scheme with Brownlee.

Federal prosecutors allege Martin paid legal fees in a federal case for
Brownlee writing a check for $175,000 from his personal bank account.

Investigators claim Martin received $100,000 in cash for writing the check.

If convicted, Martin could face to 25-years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
