DRUG SPENDING SLAMMED
Parents have lashed out at the Federal Government's schools drugs education
strategy, describing it as grossly insufficient to halt substance abuse
among teenagers.
The Federation of Parents and Citizens' Associations of NSW said the
Government was not providing enough money under the $17.5million strategy.
In a response to the Government's draft strategy, it called for a greater
focus on prevention programs and a greater involvement of students.
In all there was a possible $290million available under the Government's
illicit drug strategy, of which a total of $37.1million appeared to be
available for education purposes, it said.
