Durham police drug enforcement officers are asking you to join the war on
drugs.

During the winter, marijuana is grown indoors in hydroponic labs. A
hydroponic lab could be anything from a few plants grown under bright
lights to a room specially converted to grow large quantities of the drug.

A single marijuana plant can yield a quarter pound of drug at maturity that
has a street value of approximately $2,500. In 1997, Durham Region's
police drug enforcement unit seized $3.5 million in narcotics and laid more
than 590 drug related charges against 270 people.
