URBAN LEGEND SCOTCHED
MIAMI, - Local police are scotching the latest urban
legend to surface at elementary schools and northeast Miami-Dade County.
According to the legend - and not to police - postage-size temporary
tattoos with pictures of Mickey Mouse or Bart Simpson that are being
sold contain LSD. The myth says they can produce hallucinations or
even death.
It's not true, say police, who point out that the legend has been
circulating for more than a decade without one solid report of an
actual incident.
Principals at South Pointe Elementary School and Oak Grove Elementary
sent out letters warning of the tattoos.
Miami-Dade school officials say they are only erring on the side of
caution.
