ANNE ARUNDEL CTY POLICE MADE THEIR LARGEST MARIJUANA SEIZURE IN HISTORY
(ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD) - Anne Arundel County police made their
largest marijuana seizure in history last month. More than 400 pounds
of pot were confiscated from a delivery truck. The load had a street
value of nearly $2- million.
On a tip from federal and county law enforcement officials, Anne
Arundel authorities searched the Copy and Parcel Company in
Millersville on February 8th. They found nothing but saw a Roadway
Express truck pull up as they were leaving. Police said they were
granted permission to search the truck, and a drug-sniffing dog
alerted them to eight packages, all labeled computer equipment and
addressed to an Allyson Barnette.
About 200 pounds of marijuana was seized earlier in a shipment sent
from California to a parcel company of the same name in Gaithersburg.
That shipment was addressed to the same name.
The owner of the two parcel company stores, 30-year-old Chukwu N.
Lawson is wanted in Montgomery County for importing more than a
hundred pounds of marijuana into the state. He's the focus of the Anne
Arundel County investigation.
