POLICE FIND 16 SACKS OF POT AT HOUSE GARRET IN SIBERIA CITY.

TYUMEN, Western Siberia, -- Police officers
in the old Siberian city of Tobolsk found 16 sacks of marijuana (600
kilograms) and two kilos of hashish in the garret of an old house,
Itar-Tass learnt at the regional police department here on Friday.

Police detained a suspected owner of drugs, a guest from the Caucasus
who tenanted a flat from a local pensioner.

As many as 500 kilograms of marijuana, seized by detectives at the
city vegetable warehouse, was regarded the largest batch of drugs,
confiscated in Tyumen by police until now. In the opinion of the
regional police department, Tyumen turns into a major transshipment
point for drug barons.
