WHY EAT WEED, ANYWAY?
Re: Avoid the jimson, teen tells peers (Free Press, Aug. 14)
Perhaps I've led a sheltered life, as I have never heard of this
weed, let alone the hallucinogenic effects it may have. In any case,
why would anyone want to eat a weed?
And now, thanks to the media and the teen who ate it, many kids,
including mine, now have this information, which will mean many more
will try it, just because they've been told not to.
It's ridiculous to even suggest that the city get rid of all the
jimson weed, as I'm sure there's many more plants to eat that will
make you just as sick. Where would it end?
These kids need to find a better use of their time, and this story
should have stayed buried -- just like the jimson weed.
