FRIENDS SHOCKED AT MARTI PELLOW'S ADDICTION

Friends of MARTI PELLOW are in shock after
hearing the Scottish singer is addicted to heroin.

The WET WET WET frontman made the admission to his family after
collapsing in a London hotel room last week (28FEB99).

The cause of his addiction is thought to be the pressures of recording
a comeback album.

Pellow also suffered a major setback last year (98) when his drummer
TOMMY CUNNINGHAM stormed out of the band after a row over
songwriting.

And Cunningham says, "At first I thought it was the drink like
everyone else. It's a tragic time.

"The stress of the new album, coupled with the toll of his mind and
body from years of heroin abuse proved too much. It's very sad."
