HEROIN CAUSED MARTI PELLOW'S DOWNFALL

Marti Pellow is a heroin addict who tried to
commit suicide with a champagne and drugs overdose.

The WET WET WET star was rushed to hospital last week (28FEB99) after
a bust up with his girlfriend.

Sources close to the star say he has become addicted to heroin since
splitting from the love of his life, EILEEN CATTERSON.

The 33-year-old confessed to his distraught family at his bedside,
"I'm a heroin addict. If I don't get help soon, I'm a dead man."

A close friend says, "Marti knows it's now or never and that he must
fight this heroin addiction or he'll die.

"The tragedy is that he has been leading a secret double life for a
long time now. He has been trying to hold his home life and work life
together while being totally dependent on heroin.

"The rock life has so many temptations and despite his clean living
image, I'm afraid Marti succumbed."
