17 HIV-INFECTED PEOPLE REVEALED IN IRKUTSK DISTRICT
IRKUTSK, March 24 (Itar-Tass) - Seventeen HIV-infected people have been
revealed in one of Irkutsk districts. These are young people aged from 17
to 23 -- students of secondary and higher educational establishments.
Experts at the local Anti-AIDS Centre (AAC) incline to an opinion that a
narcotic drug became the source of massive infection with HIV (human immune
deficiency virus).
According to AAC, fifty-seven HIV-virus carriers have been registered in
Irkutsk Region by now, as against 14 a year ago.
