DRUG WAR GOES HIGH-TECH
In a bid to stamp out drug planting by 2008, U.N. member states have
agreed to set up a high-technology monitoring network including ground
surveys and remote satellite sensing, the world body said yesterday.
Sponsored by Colombia, the resolution calls on the Vienna-based U.N.
International Drug Control Program to help governments with national
surveillance tools.
