RUSSIAN TRANSPORT POLICE DETAINS TWO FOR POSSESSION OF DRUGS.
ST. PETERSBURG -- Transport police officers in
Northwestern Russia seized more than six kilogrammes of marijuana and
73.618 grammes of heroin last weekend, the regional police
department's press service said.
According to the press service, a 36-year-old unemployed resident of
the Murmansk region who was detained directly upon arrival of Train 21
(St. Petersburg-Murmansk) at the Kola railway station was found to be
carrying 6.589 kilogrammes of marijuana. The investigation is underway.
Another drug courier was detained over the weekend in Murmansk,
European Russia's major Arctic port: transport police arrested there a
29-year-old unemployed resident of St. Petersburg who had arrived in
the city by train, carrying 73.618 grammes of heroin. Legal action is
underway.
