MOTORCYCLE GANG LEADER SENTENCED
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., March 30 (UPI) - The national leader of the Diablos
motorcycle gang has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug
trafficking. John ``Cadillac Jack'' Baltas, 57, of Meriden, Conn., was
found guility by a federal court jury last November in Springfield of
conspiring to ship two kilos of heroin from Auburn to Northampton. Three
other members of the gang involved in the shipment have already pleaded
guilty. Baltas' conviction capped a four-year FBI undercover investigation
of the Diablos' criminal activities, which ranged from drug dealing and
weapons violations to auto theft.
