FDLE INVESTIGATES DEATH OF MAN DURING SEARCH

LAKE HELEN, Fla., April 8 (UPI) - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement
is investigating the death of a man who police say stabbed himself as they
were searching his Volusia County home for marijuana.

Investigators say during the search, the 34-year-old man broke free from
deputies, grabbed a knife and began stabbing himself.

Officers wrestled the knife away, but the man then locked himself in a
bedroom where he was later found dead.

About 200 marijuana plants were seized from the man's home, along with a
small amount of cocaine and equipment were growing marijuana.
