UZBEK CUSTOMS SEIZE RUSSIA-BOUND HEROIN, OPIUM.
TASHKENT, April 16 (Itar-Tass) -- Uzbek customs and the national
security service last Thursday detained a courier with some 128
kilograms of opium and 2 kilograms of heroin, the republican Customs
Committee told Itar-Tass on Friday.
The courier was detained at a customs checkpoint in the Surkhan-Darya
region, the southernmost area of Uzbekistan.
He said his customer was a Russian citizen living in the Far Eastern
town of Ussuriysk.
