GREEK POLICE ON ALERT AFTER DEATHS
ATHENS, Greece (AP) Drug overdoses killed six people found dead in
different parts of Athens Sunday, police said.
Officials believe the victims, men between 19 and 45 years old, all
died after using heroin. They fear a high-purity batch of the drug
could lead to more deaths.
Greece and other Balkan countries are key links between western Europe
and drug-producing areas in the East.
More than 200 people in Greece died of heroin overdoses last
year.
