HEROIN INJECTING ROOM EXPECTED TO OPEN TOMORROW
Sydney's controversial heroin injecting room is expected to open as
planned tomorrow despite a police raid yesterday.
The Reverend Ray Richmond said today police had not closed the
Tolerance or T-Room at the Wayside Chapel in Kings Cross and had not
laid charges over its operation.
Three people who were arrested had been detained by police because of
prior activities, Richmond said.
"It didn't have anything to do with activity in the chapel," he told
ABC Radio.
T-Room organisers are expected to announce later today whether the
controversial injecting room would open during next week's Drug Summit.
About 15 drug users had used the room the past two times it had
opened, he said.
