SAUGUS BOY SUSPENDED FOR MARIJUANA
SAUGUS, May 7 (UPI) - The parents of a 13-year-old Saugus boy say he's
been suspended for five days from school for doing the right thing.
Tyle Hagen gave his parents a small bag of marijuana after he says a
friend handed it to him at school. His parents turned it in to the
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, but when officials at Arroyo
Seco Junior Middle School found out he'd been given pot on campus,
they suspended him under the district's zero-tolerance drug policy.
Both the Hagens and sheriff's officials are fighting the suspension.
William S. Hart Union High School District officials say the incident
is still under investigation.
