NORMIE ROWE ATTACKS DRUG SUMMIT
Entertainer Normie Rowe said today the New South Wales drug summit was
stacked in favour of drug liberalisation. Rowe, whose daughter recently
underwent a battle with heroin addiction, said the summit was being run with
a harm-minimisation agenda favouring heroin trials and shooting galleries.
"What we should be doing is we should be looking at complete harm prevention
and the only way you can do that is prevention of the use of this stuff," he
said.
He said there had been little commonsense displayed at the summit and many
anti-drug campaigners who wanted to attend had been rejected.
"Shame, that's what I say, shame," he said.
