SHOOTING GALLERY TO LOCK DOORS
AN ILLEGAL heroin shooting gallery would not reopen following the NSW Drug
Summit's decision to trial safe injecting rooms, organisers said yesterday.
The so-called Tolerance Room caused an outcry when it opened at the Wayside
Chapel in Kings Cross.
But Reverend Ray Richmond said Thursday night's decision meant it was no
longer needed.
"I think NSW is in a position to lead the whole of Australia," Rev Richmond
said.
The T-Room had played a part in winning delegates' support for safe
injecting rooms, he said.
