CONFISCATE ASSETS

IT IS right that the drug summit should give consideration to what should
best be done for addicts and victims of drug traffickers. This will take
time, it is contentious and difficult.

However there appears to have been little attention to tackling the
fundamental drug traffic at source: how best to discourage and stop the
criminal slime that produces, trades and trafficks in illicit drugs.

Confiscation of all assets of traffickers no matter how they are accumulated
or where or in whose names they are hidden could make it all a self-funded
exercise.

The Frank Costigan method of following the money trail or the drug trail
back to source could be effective in exposing the real criminals now that we
have at least in NSW a head of police and heads of both State and federal
governments, men of integrity and dedication.
