A DRUGS SNAP POLL
CHANNEL 7 conducted a snap poll on Harold Hird's recent suggestion that the
death penalty be reintroduced. He got a lot of support - about 80 per cent
in favour. Apparently Hird went public on this to match Michael Moore's
advocacy of drug-law reform, saying that if Moore could push his "pet
hobbyhorses" so could he (CT, 20 May, p.3). In that case, I wonder whether
Michael Moore would agree to have Channel 7 conduct a snap poll about
shooting galleries.
