1,700 POUNDS OF COCAINE SEIZED
EL PASO, Texas (AP) Four men were arrested after police saw them exchange
a package in a parking lot that led them to the seizure of 1,749 pounds of
cocaine, which police said had a street value of $127 million.
Officers trailed a van of one of two men Thursday after spotting the
exchange. The driver fled in another vehicle when officers approached,
leaving the van behind, police said.
A police dog detected drugs in the van, where officers said they found 236
pounds. The rest was found at a house.
The four men, including two from Mexico, were charged with possession of a
controlled substance with intent to deliver.
