POLICE ISSUE DATE-RAPE DRUG ALERT
York Region police are warning about date-rape drugs after a woman was
approached in a Newmarket nightclub and sexually assaulted.
On June 11, two men in a bar began buying a 28-year-old woman drinks, then
escorted her to another location where they both sexually assaulted her,
police said.
The drinks are believed to have been spiked with a date-rape drug. Police
are still looking for the two suspects.
Use of the drugs -- Rohypnol and GHB are most common -- is on the rise,
according to police.
