Drug Dealer Suspects Found Dead in Mexico
MEXICO CITY - Mexican police found the bodies of four men suspected of
being members of the Gulf drug cartel along a highway on the U.S.-Mexico
border, the government news agency Notimex reported yesterday.
The bodies, blindfolded and cuffed, were inside an abandoned luxury car
near the hamlet of Lucio Blanco, 14 miles from the border town of
Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas, Notimex said, quoting police.
Investigators believe that the victims were gunmen for a former head of the
Gulf drug cartel, and the gangland-style kiIling suggests that. it was
carried out by other drug dealers, Medina said. Two of the victims have
been identified as former state policemen.
