Dear Editor:

I do not understand why the media give Joe Califano and his National
Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse the time of day because they
refuse to allow any of their "science" to be peer reviewed for
accuracy. Refusing to have their reports verified by legitimate
scientists puts Califano's babbling on a par with the flat earth
theory and notions that phrenology could assess intelligence and moral
rectitude. Califano is a shameless drug war propagandist and basing
policy on his fictions is lunacy.
