Sir, I read with great delight Kim Bielenberg's excellent article on
the subject of the growing movement in Ireland towards a softening of
the Cannabis laws. However, I was left with a bitter taste after
reading EURAD (Europe Against Drugs) Dublin's spokesperson Grainne
Kelly's parting comments "cannabis is 10 times stronger than
cigarettes".
I know she has no scientific evidence to back up these claims, for
there are none, and also we are dealing with two totally separate
drugs. One kills millions of people world-wide due to lung cancer and
other diseases. The other has no known lethal dosage and has never
been implicated in a single fatality ever.
