A BLACK DAY

Today's decision to set up a legal injecting room for drug addicts
marks a black day in the history of this State, and a terrible
betrayal of our children and grandchildren.

We should be using every possible resource and every dollar the
community can spare on programs to help these foolish and unfortunate
people to cure their addiction. Our courts should be ordering addicts
into drug cure centres instead of jails.

Instead we are giving them help and encouragement to continue the
terrible addiction which is destroying their own lives and those of
their families.
