POT-ARREST SLAP AT NYU
An NYU math major busted for marijuana last year won a lawsuit
against the school, it was revealed yesterday.
Michael Quercia, of North Babylon, L.I., was suspended from NYU after
campus police raided his dorm room on May 5, 2005.
NYU brass ordered him to complete 500 hours community service, and
said they'd then consider letting him take classes again in 2007.
But that's too "draconian," Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Walter
Tolub ruled in the Aug. 18 decision, made public yesterday.
For the criminal charges against him, Quercia was fined $95 and given
10 days community service.
