STRIP SEARCH PROBED
Canada Customs brass are probing a complaint by a Toronto man who claims he
had his buttocks grabbed while undergoing a strip search.
The man complained he was humiliated by a male Customs officer after he
arrived from Jamaica on an Air Canada flight last week, sources said. The
search allegedly took place in an interview room in Terminal 2.
The man's identity has not been released. No drugs were found and the man
was released.
The man claimed a Customs officer grabbed his buttocks and briefly caressed
his thigh area. A complaint was filed against an officer on Tuesday.
Customs spokesman Duncan Smith said all complaints from the public against
his officers are investigated. He said he could not comment on any specific
complaint.
