A COSTLY AND MISLEADING DRUG POLICY

Re: Cut through the antidrug haze, by John Tierney, Aug. 29.

I wish to commend John Tierney on his brief and poignant article
dispelling many of the myths surrounding drug use in America.

I am not an illegal drug user, simply a person who revels in the
truth. I do not like being misled, and that's exactly the plan of the
Bush administration regarding drug policy in the United States.

Proclaim all you want. The facts are clear, according to this article.
Some $5-billion has been wasted on drug enforcement since 2000 without
one ounce of effect shown by the U.S. government. Is it worth it?
