A MATTER OF PRIVATE BEHAVIOR
As Al Gore, Bill Bradley and George W. Bush dodge questions about their
illegal drug use, the nation sees their hypocrisy. Isn't it funny that they
haven't presented themselves at the jailhouse door to accept the same
punishment they now advocate for those caught doing what they did.
But there's a far-more-important question that both the press and public
should be asking all our public officials and candidates: Why should any
American citizen ever have to go to prison for private behavior by
consenting adults?
