I'VE READ A LOT OF DRIVEL

I've read a lot of drivel lately from George W. Bush and others about
his comments regarding his prior use of drugs. I say "use of drugs"
because a person would have to be a complete idiot not to figure out
that he probably used more than marijuana in his early days. Why not
just come out and say it, George? Or maybe it's too late for a dose of
honesty. But the people of this country are sick and tired of
"double-speak." We've had a belly full from the Clintons. Are the
politicians so groomed by their public relations people that they
can't even give us a hint of honesty? It's no wonder a guy such as
Jesse Ventura can get elected governor of Minnesota. He laid it all on
the line and let the chips fall where they may. He may have offended a
lot of people, but many voted for him because he was more believable
than not. A comment from Bush such as, "I learned from mistakes I may
or may not have made," really makes people want to hurl. And with
almost 15 months before the presidential election, I don't know if I
can stand it that long.

Alvin
